Social development of children under Montessori education

School is a small society, which provides children an opportunity to get in touch with peers. All people can know each other. The social interaction provided in mixed-age environment is more challenging and diversified, and the friendship established therefrom will be more solid. Individual teaching and independent operation is emphasized in the environment, it sounds like isolating the children and causing them to lose the opportunity of social interaction, but it is not actually. Montessori classroom is a small-scale open society, social interaction will be generated naturally.

For example: say "excuse me" when a child wants to passing in front of the other child; when working together with others, they should coordinate the work should be done respectively to smooth finish the work; when certain work is operated by someone and she also wants to work, she must learn to wait; when a visitor came, the child should treat the guest as a host and greet each other; children will share their food when playing some activities.

The interaction in the environment is natural and life-oriented.
