In Montessori environment, 2-3 adults with tacit understanding between each other are more than sufficient, excessive adults are not only useless but also harmful.

There are 4 reasons: 

1、When there are too many adults, it is likely to give excessive help to children or make children rely on adults too much, resulting that the children's independence development is obstructed. 

2、When there are too many adults, children tend to seek for help of adults, so the opportunity for mutual help among children will be less naturally and children's socialization development will become much more monotonous. 

3、When there are too many adults, adults' children guiding methods, standards and even implementation persistence degree will be different, and the difficulty in cultivating tacit understanding among them will be relatively bigger as well, causing children not know what to do and hindering their independence cultivation. 

4、When there are too many adults, they will depend on each other as well and bear looser working attitude, thus impacting the normal operation of one class. Only the number of adults is limited to a certain extent, and the same concept, attitude, standard and method are taken by different adults, can children's independence and social interaction be developed.
